We had a great day today on the waters of Lake Chelan. Lake Chelan is this really long, skinny, deep lake just northeast of Wenatchee. We drove up despite the extreme weather advisory that the National Weather Service was putting out which turned out to be irrelevant for us.
We rented an excellent boat and headed out into the sunshine for some tubing with Rob at the wheel:
Max and Jack went first and got thrown around quite a bit.
Max and Emma have a rare moment of sibling bonding. Then Chris had a turn. He laid down pretty quickly once Rob hit the gas!
Rosie was reluctant to get in the water ("I'm not a fish person."), but she finally got on for the very last, very sedate ride back to the boat rental place.
You may note my absence from the tube-it's true-I didn't get on it. Didn't feel like it. I guess I only tube with Tara Francis Forgues in MA.
Tomorrow we sadly say goodbye and thank you for a fabulous visit to the Jorgensens. Then it's back in to the Pickle Bus (nicely serviced by the kind folks at Wenatchee Toyota who even washed off the thousands of the dead bugs on the grill) and we head through the corner of Oregon and in to Idaho en route to Jackson Hole and Yellowstone National Park where we are hoping to shop (Emma) and see some really cool wildlife (from a safe distance, of course.).
