Day 12

We woke up on Friday to an unbelievably gorgeous day in Boise. What a cute city with incredibly nice people! In need of a sticker for the Thule and our scrap book we visited the Boise State bookstore.

The girls tried to convince us that we needed to do all of their back to school shopping there. Didn't happen, we're so mean!
Conveniently they had an Apple store in the bookstore, but we managed to avoid temptation, much to the children's disappointment. Also, they recycle there which made the Vermonter in me happy. Seriously, it was the only place that we have been that does, including the national parks.
We also found our friend and Vermont author Elizabeth Bluemle's book Tap, Tap, Boom, Boom in the bookstore:

Then, with Harry Potter fighting to save the wizarding world, we hit the highway without fear of a speeding ticket as they have an 80 mph speed limit! Unfortunately, I forgot that I had been unable to lock the Thule at the Jorgensens the day before and, just as Harry was gathering up Snape's memories, it went flying open and most of our camping gear went flying out. Oops. We were able to gather it all up without much risk to life and limb, no damage to any of the gear either. Chris locked it up tightly and stored the keys (which I had left in the lock so I would remember to tell him that it wasn't locked. Wasn't that effective?). The kids were most worried that we not leave the ponchos from Niagara Falls on the median because it was littering, such good Vermonters!

Next up was the Idaho Potato Museum. Truly. This exists, no joke. It was cute and small and had the biggest display of potato peelers I have ever seen. Actually probably the only display, though I bet Martha Stewart has a collection to rival this one.
See, I really am on this trip-photographic evidence!
Also, the largest display of potato mashers:
Those are for you, Mom!
We landed in Jackson Hole via the scenic (and slow) Teton Pass and are happily ensconced in our lovely cabin at the Rustic Inn for two nights.

Native American dancing around the fire pit in the teepee on the property.

Town Square in Jackson before our dinner at the 3 Piggies Mexican restaurant.
It's a gorgeous day in Jackson today (Saturday) and we are headed off to hike around Jenny Lake, then some fishing, shopping and a rodeo!
Hope its nice wherever you all are too!
