Day 9

Found these in Wallace Idaho on the way to Wenatchee. They are as gross as you would think that they would be.

Day nine found us waking up in real beds with clean laundry (just in the nick of time), air conditioning and a real bathroom that we did not have to share with a lizard, moths or strangers. We arrived in Wenatchee at 10:30 pm, well ahead of what our crazy GPS predicted. We really need to stop using that thing.
We are so happy to be in Washington with our friends; Rob, Jen, Robey, Jack and Charlie Jorgensen and their golden doodle Buddy. We went rafting down the Wenatchee River today, but didn't take any pictures for fear of ruining the phones! Rosie and I shared a raft which had its moments but the river was shallow in quite a few places and the boat had a slow leak so we are bruised in a few delicate spots. It was totally fun. In honor of Shark Week we did discuss the fact that Bull Sharks like to live in fresh and salt water, though not in the Pacific Northwest, only in South America.
Right now I'm watching Shark Week and everyone else is in bed. Why do people jump into water with 18 foot Great Whites? Just wondering…
More tomorrow.

PS I found Emma's iPod in the towels. She was very disappointed as she felt that the loss meant that she was going to get an upgrade (not my plan!).

PPS Got a text from Phil Destito who said that the family was taking bets on who would get left behind first. Rosie said Dad and Max right away. Max's response, "I'm not even going to take offense to that Rosie."
