Day Five
Spent almost entirely in the car driving from Wisconsin to South Dakota. Someone, we think, took Emma's iPod out of the car when we are eating dinner in the Dells, so she had to suffer through the drive without it. We listened to Roald Dahl's book The Witches. It was a bit too gruesome for Max, Chris, and I. Emma and Rosie loved it! What does that say about our family?
Chris had an enormous Rice Krispie treat for a snack. One thing is true, nothing is small in the mid-west!
Also, no one recycles. What's up with that?
We found a restaurant called the Thirsty Belgian and had veggies and hummus for lunch along with Toasties which are the Belgian version of a panini. I had a chef salad with no veggies, not sure how the  chef created that!

This is the start of the rolling hills of South Dakota:

We had to have dinner here, in honor of Al Marsella. Bison on the nachos. Emma was grossed out!

We finally arrived in Philip, SD where we camped for the first time:

Today we are visiting the Badlands, Wall Drug and Mount Rushmore.
